Why Isn't BibleWorks Fully Unicode?

Though BibleWorks is not currently fully Unicode, our policy as a company is that we are slowly shifting over to Unicode.

All future CHM modules will use Unicode Greek and Hebrew, and we will convert the older CHM modules as time permits. Both Unicode Greek and Hebrew and legacy BibleWorks fonts are supported in most program functions that export data. Internally we still use non-Unicode Greek and Hebrew. The BibleWorks editor fully supports Unicode Greek and Hebrew. BibleWorks ships with several fully functional Unicode Greek and Hebrew fonts, but for full function Word 2007 or later is required.

Over time we will replace internal code structures and display fonts with Unicode, but this will be an ongoing process for a while as long as a significant number of our users still use non-Unicode Greek and Hebrew.
