BibleWorks, like many other Windows-based programs, makes use of fonts for special purposes. This is noticeably the case for texts that use non-Latin alphabets such as Greek or Hebrew. The fonts are usually installed to the computer when the BibleWorks program itself is installed. Occasionally, however, it becomes necessary to install fonts manually. If you are running Windows Vista or earlier, take the following steps. (Font installation under Windows 7 can be done differently. Click here for instructions.)

Open the Windows Fonts Folder
1. Open the Windows Control Panel.
2. Find and open the Windows Fonts folder.
(Depending on the version of Windows in use, it may be necessary to switch Control Panel to Classic View in order to see the Fonts folder icon.)
Delete the Existing Copies of the Font Files
1. If the Greek or Hebrew font is in need of replacement, the existing copy must be removed before a new copy can be installed.
2. Find the font names in the folder for the fonts to be replaced. BibleWorks fonts begin with BW... BibleWorks Greek fonts begin BWGRK.. and BibleWorks Hebrew fonts begin BWHEB.. (There will three of each.)
3. Select each font icon by clicking on it. To select multiple font files, hold the CTRL key on the keyboard while clicking on the font names.
4. Delete the selected fonts. After the font files have been selected, hit the DEL (or DELETE) key on the keyboard to delete the font file(s).
Add New Fonts from Downloaded Font Files
1. Open the ADD FONTS dialog box
a. If the Windows Fonts folder is not still visible, open it at this time.
b. Search for the BibleWorks fonts (beginning with BW..., as above).  If these are not present, download them using the instructions here

c. To add new fonts, click FILE on the menu bar in the Fonts folder, then select INSTALL NEW FONT... from the drop down menu.
(If the version of Windows in use is Windows Vista, one will need to hit the ALT key to display the menu bar.)
d. The Add Fonts dialog box should open. (See illustration below.)
The location of the folder containing the font files will determine the next steps to be taken.

2. Access the folder containing the new font files
a. Use the DRIVES drop-down if the folder containing the font files is not on the C drive.
b. Use the FOLDERS listbox to find the folder containing the needed files.
When the Add Fonts dialog first displays, the Folders listbox is showing the contents of the Windows folder.
If the folder containing the fonts was stored elsewhere on the C drive, it will be necessary to navigate to the other folder.
- To go up a folder level, double-click on the C drive icon at the top of the listbox. When one has started in the Windows folder, and goes up a level, that happens to be at the root of the C drive.
- If the folder containing the files was created as a sub-folder to another folder, one will need to drill down to the folder containing the files needed.
3. Select and install the fonts
a. When the folder containing the font files has been reached and selected, the LIST OF FONTS listbox will populate with the names of fonts.
b. Select each font to be installed by clicking on it. To select more than one font name, hold the CTRL key while clicking on each individual name.
c. When all desired font names have been selected, click the OK button to add the fonts and thus complete the process.
