Error: "BibleWorks 8 Has Stopped Working"

A recent problem, first observed in late December 2015, has caused BibleWorks 8 under Windows 10 to terminate under some circumstances with the message in the subject line. A Windows 10 update altered the way the Flash Player accessed the "Getting Started" window as the program opens. Please use the following steps to fix the problem:
Manual update for Bibleworks 8 customers:
1. Restart your computer.
2. Download the zip file at this location: http://www.bibleworks.com/support/et7br/bw800upd.zip
3. Right click on the zip file and copy bw800.exe and bw800.map to your BibleWorks folder (usually c:\\Program Files (x86)\\BibleWorks 8 or c:\\Program Files\\BibleWorks 8).
4. Run BibleWorks 8.
