Update process failed...AA-02840An attempt to perform an update in BibleWorks can fail if BibleWorks fails to shut down completely. The error message that displays describes the two conditions under which this may occur.
One one hand, a second session of BibleWorks may have been running when the check for updates was initiated. This is not a cloned session, for the program will automatically close down the clone as well as the main session. Perhaps, though, the program was already running, albeit minimized, after which another session was begun. Another condition cited in the error suggests that a utility program may be running that would prevent the update process from completing successfully even if only one session is open, since that session is prevented from completely closing. If the problem persists, try disabling the utility before starting the update process. In view of this, one should be certain that only one session of BibleWorks is running before starting the process to check for updates. If the error does occur, the items that had been selected will no longer appear in the list of available updates. Happily, there is an easy remedy to this, after which the updates can be applied. To do so, take the following steps: 1. Open the Install Updates window as usual. The reason for the last three steps is to return the regular view of the listbox to show only new patches.
