Why Can the BibleWorks Editor Spell Checker Give Strange Results?

The spell checker in the BibleWorks editor is a third party addon to the Microsoft Richedit Library.  BibleWorks has extremely limited control over how it works.

This spell checker currently has a known problem with embedded tags (hyperlinks).  BibleWorks reports such problems to the vendor.
