What is an Alternative Procedure to Install BibleWorks 9 and Earlier Versions Under Windows XP?AA-02927BibleWorks 10 is not supported for Windows XP. If CDs/DVDs will not install normally for BibleWorks 9 and earlier versions, the following procedure will guide you in the process of copying the contents of the BibleWorks Program Discs to a folder that you create on your hard drive and then use the files that have been copied to your hard drive to successfully install BibleWorks. Insert your Program Disc 1 into your CD/DVD rom drive and dismiss the prompt to install the program, then proceed with the procedure indicated below. 1. Create a temporary folder on your computer's hard drive. I. Open My Computer (also known as the Windows Explorer) and click on the Folders button.
II. The My Computer window will change in the following manner that provides two panes to work with. In the left-hand pane, click on the icon for the C drive.
III. On the menu click on FILE | NEW | FOLDER
2. Insert the BibleWorks Program Disc #1 into your computer's CD-ROM / DVD-ROM.
3. Copy the Program Disc 1 files to the temp folder. I. Copy the contents of the Program Disc. The following capital letters identify portions of the screenshot below:
II. Paste the contents of the Program Disc that you just copied into the temp folder.
III. The last step initiated the process of copy the contents of a Program Disc to the folder that you named temp. You should now see a window like this that indicates the files are being copied: 4. Repeat the process that is indicated in step 3.I-III for the additional Program Discs that you have for your version of BibleWorks.
IMPORTANT!!! If you have BibleWorks 7 and are undertaking this procedure to install it. do not copy the Modules Disc into this temporary folder. It also has a setup.exe file, and will overwrite the setup file for the BibleWorks 7 installation. 5. Install BibleWorks from the folder named temp.
6. The BibleWorks installation will begin after you click Setup.exe, click on Install/Reconfigure to start the installation from the files in the temp folder.
Restart your computer as prompted at the end of the process. Open the program and activate it. If you have difficulty activating by Internet, see the instructions here. Last Updated: MC/Feb 12, 2013 |
