Why Do My Study Guide or How-To Videos Not Play?

The How-To Videos in BibleWorks 10 are accessed online (click on Help | How-To Videos (online) from the main menu).

The instructions below assist in troubleshooting video playback in BibleWorks 8 and 9.

1. Double check to see that you have Flash Player installed. Flash Player should install to your computer during the BibleWorks X installation (X = the version of BibleWorks you are using). It can also be found at:

If you have verified that Flash Player is installed, follow the instructions in step 2.

2. If the links within the BibleWorks Study Guides (BibleWorks 8) or How-To Videos (BibleWorks 9) do not work, you may need to reset the BibleWorks COM server using the BibleWorks Trouble-Shooting Options window.

To do so:
a. Exit BibleWorks
b. Start BibleWorks while holding down the SHIFT key to access the BibleWorks Trouble-Shooting Options Menu, (to avoid accessing multiple desktop icons when you do so hold down the shift key when you click Start > Programs > BibleWorks X > BibleWorks X where X = your version of BibleWorks).
c. Under Option 2 in the Window that opens, click on the radio button that says Unregister Automation Server. Then click the button directly below it that indicates Perform these actions and exit. The Window will close.
d. Start BibleWorks again while holding down the SHIFT key.
e. Under Option 2 in the Window that opens, click on the button that says Reset Automation Server. Then click the button directly below it that indicates Perform these actions and exit. The Window will close.
f. Restart BibleWorks as usual.
